読書ダイエット？！
ワタシも最近ぷよぷよしてるので、そんなダイエットがあれば試してみる価値アリなのですが・・・。残念ながら、効果が期待されるのは子供だけみたい。
３１人の女児を対象に行われた調査によって、その効果が示されました。
Lake Rescueというその本は、肥満に悩む女の子を主人公としたものらしく、読んだ子供達で最も顕著な体重とBMIの減少が確認されたのだとか。
また、その効果はそれだけにとどまりません。
"And not only did it have a small but significant effect on BMI, but it also had a positive effect on the girls' self-esteem."

つまり、体重のみならず、彼女たちのメンタル面にも良い影響が見られたとのこと。それだけその本が、本質的な影響を与えたと言えそうですね。
また、子供達に対するこのようなトライアルには、大きな意味があるそうです。

少々長めの引用ですが、つまり、心身ともに未成熟な子供達には、有効で副作用のないダイエット手段が確立されていないということ。だから、今回確認された有効性には大きな価値があるというワケ。
まだ純真なうちには、こういう手段もあるんですね。日本でも小児肥満が増えれば、こういう本がベストセラーになる日が来るかも。

【英単語チェック】bosoms：スラングかと思ったのですが、女性の「胸」の文語表現だそうです。
妊娠して大きくなるのは当たり前ですが、その胸は際限なく巨大化し、その痛みに耐えられなくなったとのこと。

一睡もできないようでは、我慢の限界だったんでしょうね。しかし・・・出産後はどんな胸になるんでしょう？

アメリカで、自称「世界一汚いアパート」が売りに出されたそうです。
しかし、なぜそんなアピールをするのか？（；゜０゜）

でもでも、写真でみる限りそんなにヒドくなさそう。日本には、もっと汚いアパートありそうですよね。
