ワースト１０クリスマスプレゼント
クリスマスを中心に世界中がギフトシーズンを迎えますが、今年は例の金融危機の影響により、地味なそれとなりそうです。
"2008 might have been a bad year for the economy, but it was a great year for stupidity,"
そのためか、しょうもないギフトは非常に充実しているらしく、ニュース記事ではそのワースト１０が紹介されています。
その中で気になったものをチョット紹介・・・
『5. Wasabi Flavoured Gumballs:』
【英語表現チェック】～flavoured・・・：「～味（風味）の・・・」、 お寿司が世界に通用する今では、ワサビもそのままで通じます。
『These potent little green confections offer an intense explosion of wasabi. Strangely, the gum is actually delicious.』
【英単語チェック】potent：「（薬が）よく効く」、confection：「お菓子」
これって日本ではだいぶ前からありますよね。ガムが何個か入ってて、ハズレがワサビってやつ。ああいうお菓子も、外国人へのお土産に良いカモ。

でた！おやじギャグ商品。でも、今年のギフト（アメリカ旅行のお土産にも）には良さそう。というか、ちょっと欲しい。

トンデモナイもののようですが、そのコントラストってやつはチョット見てみたいような・・・。たぶん後悔しますが。(⌒_⌒; タラタラ
